Lewis Roca Lawyer Appointed to Special Olympics Arizona Board of Directors

PHOENIX (November 8, 2023) – Lewis Roca is pleased to announce the appointment of Samit Bhalala to the Board of Directors of Special Olympics Arizona (SOAZ). Bhalala, an associate and member of the firm's Business Transactions Practice Group, joins this esteemed organization to further its mission of empowering children and adults with intellectual disabilities to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.

Special Olympics Arizona (SOAZ) is committed to promoting inclusion and acceptance through health, leadership, advocacy programs, and year-round sports training. This organization provides athletic competitions in a variety of Olympic-style sports for individuals with intellectual disabilities, fostering physical fitness, courage, joy, and a sense of community.

In a statement released by SOAZ, Bhalala expressed his dedication to this cause: “I am honored to be a part of such a special organization with the opportunity to work alongside my fellow business leaders, the SOAZ staff, and most importantly, these outstanding athletes,” Bhalala said.  “I have a huge passion for mentoring and sports, I hope to bring that to the table to help continue growing this organization and its athletes.”

In his legal practice, Bhalala primarily advises clients through a broad range of commercial real estate transactions and general corporate matters.  Bhalala predominantly represents purchasers, sellers, and institutional investors with respect to the development, operation, and disposition of multifamily residential complexes, industrial facilities, office buildings, and mixed-use projects across the United States.  

Bhalala received his J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Denver and his B.S. in public policy and B.S.B.A. in finance from the University of Arizona.
