Lewis Roca Partners Recognized in Law Week Colorado’s Barrister’s Best 2024

DENVER (October 14, 2024) – Lewis Roca announced that three of its partners have been recognized in Law Week Colorado’s Barrister’s Best 2024 issue. Michael D. Plachy, Abby Harder and Brian J. Spano were each honored for their achievements in litigation as part of the annual edition that highlights top attorneys across nearly 50 practice areas in Colorado.

Michael D. Plachy, a partner in the firm’s litigation practice, was named Best Civil Litigator: People’s Choice. With more than 30 years of experience, Plachy focuses on complex civil litigation, including commercial disputes, real estate, construction, product liability and class actions. He is known for his strategic insight and candid communication, helping clients navigate corporate governance, risk and litigation matters. His background in business and finance allows him to offer a multifaceted approach to legal challenges. Plachy received his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School, Order of the Coif, and his B.S. from the University of Colorado.

Abby Harder, a partner in the Litigation Practice Group, was recognized as Best Class Action/Mass Tort Lawyer for Defendants: People’s Choice. Harder represents clients in a wide range of commercial litigation, including class actions, trade secret disputes, real estate litigation, antitrust cases and partnership disputes. She is experienced in representing both plaintiffs and defendants through all phases of litigation, from discovery to appeals, and is known for her skillful handling of complex e-discovery. Harder earned her J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of Colorado Law School, and her bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University.

Brian J. Spano, a litigation partner, was honored as Best Insurance Lawyer for Defendants: People’s Choice. Spano focuses on representing corporate clients in commercial and insurance-related disputes, including D&O liability, class actions, insurance coverage and bad faith actions. He previously served as the managing partner of the firm’s Denver office. Spano received his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law and his B.A. from the University of Michigan, with distinction.
