Lewis Roca Expands New San Francisco Office with Addition of Four Litigators

SAN FRANCISCO (September 7, 2023) – Lewis Roca is pleased to announce the arrival of four lawyers to the firm’s new San Francisco office. Matthew Blackburn, Evan Boetticher, Jack Valinoti, and Srikanth Jandhyala join the firm’s Intellectual Property and Litigation practice groups. Blackburn and Boetticher join as partners while Valinoti joins as of counsel from Sullivan Blackburn Pratt LLP, a San Francisco-based boutique specializing in complex litigation. Jandhyala joins as an associate from Finnegan, a full-service intellectual property firm.

Blackburn, a founding partner of Sullivan Blackburn Pratt, is an accomplished complex civil litigation and intellectual property lawyer who specializes in copyright, patent, trademark, and trade secret disputes. He has served as lead trial counsel in high-stakes patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and breach of contract litigation for clients ranging from privately held businesses and startups to Fortune 500 corporations, and also has experience as a first-chair litigator in inter partes review and post-grant review matters. A respected thought leader in the industry, Blackburn has provided expert testimony in international arbitration and foreign court proceedings and regularly speaks at conferences on topics related to patent litigation. Blackburn received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.E. from Stevens Institute of Technology. He currently serves as a Section Council Member for the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section.

An intellectual property litigator, Boetticher focuses his practice on life sciences and biotechnology, including cases involving antibodies, diagnostics, stem cell technology, digital PCR, genetic screening, and pharmaceuticals. His patent experience extends to non-biologics including water purification, augmented reality, and communications systems. Boetticher received his J.D. from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, his M.S. from Northwestern University, and a B.S. from The Ohio State University.

Valinoti is a complex commercial litigator with more than 30 years of experience. With a combined practice in California, New York, and New Jersey, he implements tailor-made litigation strategies to protect clients’ rights in complex commercial, real estate, and business litigation. Valinoti received his J.D. from New York Law School and his B.A. from Bucknell University.

Jandhyala focuses his practice on patent prosecution, primarily in the computer and electronic technology areas. Jandhyala received his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law, his M.S. from Louisiana State University, and his B.Tech. from Jawahar Lal Technological University.

Lewis Roca moved its Bay Area office from Silicon Valley to San Francisco in June to be closer to its growing community of clients. The firm’s new office at 100 Pine Street is designed to accommodate growth in the region.
