Lewis Roca Associates Elected to Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association Board of Directors

PHOENIX (December 1, 2023) – Lewis Roca proudly announces the election of Daniel Salgado and Jonathan Chavez to the Board of Directors of the Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association for the 2024 term. The Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association is dedicated to advancing Latinos in the legal profession across Arizona.

Daniel Salgado, an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, brings extensive experience in patent drafting and prosecution, IP litigation, trademark opposition/cancellation proceedings, and IP clearance opinions. His patent experience includes drafting and prosecuting patents in the medical device, chemistry, and semiconductor industries. His IP clearance opinions have analyzed patent, trademark, trade dress, and copyright infringement risks across various jurisdictions including, the United States, European Union, and United Kingdom.

Beyond his legal work, Salgado is actively involved in the community, serving on the Teach for America Alumni Board for the Phoenix Region and as a member of the Colorado IP American Inn of Court. Since 2022, Salgado has been a dedicated member of the Los Abogados board, notably serving as the 2023 Chair of the Los Abogados Annual Gala

Salgado received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, his M.Ed. from Arizona State University, and his B.S., magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona.

Jonathan Chavez, an associate in the firm’s Business Transactions Practice Group, focuses his practice on commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, development, leasing, and construction. He represents purchasers, sellers, developers, REITs, and institutional investors in the development and operation of multifamily residential complexes, industrial facilities, office buildings, and other commercial developments throughout the United States. Chavez also provides representation to nonprofit corporations for their real estate needs.

Chavez's commitment to community engagement was evident during his time at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, where he actively participated in the ASU Student Bar Association, the Chicano Latino Law Student Association, and OUTLaw.

Chavez received his J.D. from Arizona State University Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, his master’s from Arizona State University, and his B.A., summa cum laude, from Arizona State University.
