Nickolas Smith is an Associate in the firm's Litigation Practice Group. Prior to joining the firm, Nick served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Lauren King at the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington and the Honorable David Weinzweig at the Arizona Court of Appeals. He gained extensive experience conducting legal research and drafting opinions on a wide range of state and federal issues in cases involving complex commercial litigation, intellectual property infringement, insurance coverage disputes, employment discrimination and reasonable accommodation, civil rights claims, immigration proceedings, and criminal prosecutions. Nick also previously served as an Assistant Federal Public Defender for the District of Arizona. In that role, he represented indigent capital clients during federal habeas corpus proceedings.
As an Arizona native, Nick spends his free time rewatching the 2001 World Series and awaiting the day when the Diamondbacks will again ascend to eternal glory.
