Lewis Roca Lawyer Named 2021 Woman of Achievement

RENO (May 27, 2021) – Lewis Roca announced Nicole Scott has been named a 2021 Woman of Achievement by the Nevada Women’s Fund. An awards ceremony on Thursday, May 27th in Reno will celebrate the honorable women who have excelled in their fields and have made significant impacts in the workplace and community.

As a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, Scott focuses her practice within the alcohol beverage industry assisting clients with licensing and regulatory matters related to business and liquor licensing for cities and municipalities throughout Nevada. She has also drafted legislation for the alcohol industry while representing both retailers and wholesalers seeking to obtain and maintain licensing throughout the state of Nevada. She also handles complex litigation matters assisting clients with informal dispute matters, mediation and settlement conferences, and hearings related to trial phases involving depositions, eDiscovery, complex discovery disputes, dispositive and pre-trial motions, and appeals. Scott has experience appearing before the Nevada Department of Taxation, the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy and the Nevada Transportation Authority. She is also committed to her pro bono service, receiving multiple awards for her pro bono work.

Prior to joining Lewis Roca, Scott served as a law clerk for the Honorable Chief Justice Hardesty at the Nevada Supreme Court. As the former coach for the University of Nevada’s Dance Team, she also spends her time teaching dance to the youth in Northern Nevada, and judging dance competitions throughout the country. Scott received her J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law, her M.A. from the University of Nevada, Reno, her M.B.A., with distinction, from Hawaii Pacific University and her B.S.B.A., with distinction, from the University of Nevada, Reno.
