Intellectual Property Associate Joins Lewis Roca

LOS ANGELES (January 14, 2019) – Lewis Roca announced Jeffrey Tom has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as an associate in the Intellectual Property practice group.

Jeffrey Tom focuses on assisting clients throughout the drafting and prosecution of their patent portfolios. He offers patent clients a strategic advantage using his technical and quality control experience in the fields of chemical engineering, material science and semiconductor manufacturing to assess both the business risks and opportunities during patent research and development. Jeffrey Tom is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), which allows him to assist clients in identifying and protecting against potential data security risks.

In addition to intellectual property, Jeffrey Tom has knowledge and experience in the area of cybersecurity and data protection in which he understands the issues surrounding data protection laws and ways to prevent or, when needed, address cyber vulnerabilities that could impact clients’ IP assets.

Jeffrey Tom received his J.D., from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law and his B.S. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
