PHOENIX (March 28, 2019) Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie partner, Matthew Sweger, has been named as one of the BTI Client Service All-Stars 2019. This annual award comprises attorneys recognized by corporate counsel for excellence in client service incorporating superior client focus, unmatched client experience, an understanding of the client’s business, unparalleled legal skills and innovative thought leadership.

Sweger is a partner in the firm’s Business Transactions practice group. He focuses his practice on corporate transactions involving middle-market mergers and acquisitions for businesses across many industries, real estate equity investment, and the health care industry. He has handled some of the most visible real estate and health care transactions in recent Arizona history. He has broad experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint venture formations and debt and equity financing, including private equity and venture capital financing. Sweger also acts as outside general counsel to clients on a range of governance issues and general business matters.

Sweger is an elected member of the firm’s Executive Committee and is also a member of the business law, tax and securities sections of the State Bar of Arizona. He has been consistently recognized by Chambers USA in the areas of corporate law and mergers and acquisitions since 2015. He was also named “Lawyer of the Year” in 2018 by Best Lawyers in America in the area of corporate law. Sweger received his J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and his B.A. from Washington & Jefferson College.
