LAS VEGAS – Gaming lawyers Glenn Light and Karl Rutledge of Lewis Roca have joined the adjunct faculty in the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Light and Rutledge are instructors for the college’s undergraduate course in Gaming Industry Regulation. It is designed to provide students with a general understanding of the laws and regulations governing gaming operations.

“The course examines the components of gambling, accounting issues, including money laundering and cash transaction reporting, tribal gaming, Internet gaming, social gaming and sports wagering,” said Rutledge.

Added Light, “While the course predominantly dissects how Nevada governs its gaming industry, students will be exposed to a variety of regulatory models in this international industry.”

Light focuses his practice on land-based casinos, horse racing and sports betting. Licensed in Nevada and New York, he guides individuals, operators, manufacturers, distributors and service providers through the licensing process.

Rutledge’s practice focuses on Internet gaming, sweepstakes, skill-based contests and sports betting. He is a frequent speaker and author on Internet gaming-related topics, with experience in advising on risk analysis, business structuring, and promotional marketing.
